The origin of rugby
Rugby is one of ball sports. It is an antagonistic sport on a rectangular field, through collective cooperation, the goal is scored by shooting the ball or the ground is scored by the touch of the ball with the ball.
Rugby originated in Rugby, England in 1823. In 1871, the England Rugby Association was established. In 1890, the International Rugby Council was established. In 1987, the International Rugby Council hosted the first World Cup Men’s Rugby Championship, and in 1991 it held the first tournament. The World Women’s Rugby Championship. On October 9, 2009, in the 121st plenary vote of the International Olympic Committee held in Copenhagen, Denmark, Rugby Sevens was passed and became the 2016 Olympic Games.
The highest organization of rugby is the International Rugby Council, established in 1886.
In 1823, rugby originated in a football match in Rugby, England.
After 1839, rugby was gradually developed in Cambridge University and other schools, and Rugby Clubs were established one after another, and inter-school competitions gradually became active.
In 1871, the England Rugby Association was established, and British rugby soon spread to European countries and the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.
In 1890, the International Rugby Council was established. British rugby continues to develop and change in many countries, creating different forms of rugby. But it can be roughly divided into rugby and American rugby.
In 1900, the former President of the Olympic Committee, Coubertin, introduced the British football into the Olympic Games. China's first rugby team was established at China Agricultural University.
After Coubertin resigned in 1925, Henri de Bayer-Latour became the chairman of the Olympic Committee. Since then, group competitions have been restricted by the Olympic Committee, and rugby has been cancelled from the Olympics.
In 1987, the International Rugby Council hosted the first Men's Rugby World Cup Championship.
In 1991, the International Rugby Council hosted the first World Women's Rugby Championship.
In 1993, the first World Cup 7-a-side Rugby Championship was held.
On October 7, 1996, the Chinese Rugby Association was formally established.
On March 18, 1997, the Chinese Rugby Association became a full member of the International Rugby Council. The International Rugby Council called this a milestone in the development of international rugby.
On December 5, 1997, the Asian Rugby Federation passed a resolution to accept the Chinese Rugby Association as the ninth full member of the organization.
In 1998, the Chinese Rugby Association hosted the first National Rugby Championship in Beijing, followed by another national tournament in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Qingdao.
Since 1999, the International Rugby Council has held 10 round-robin rounds of 7-a-side rugby tournaments in 10 countries and regions in the world each year.
