Sportswear made of warm fabric
The fabric absorbs sunlight energy, converts it into heat, and stores it in the fabric to achieve the effect of warmth. This kind of product has been developed by Unitika, called "Solor-a", and is added to the conjugated polyester fiber core. Zirconium carbide can keep the fabric warm. Toray's Megacron uses a solar absorber to absorb the energy of the sun. A fabric made of metal oxide and zirconium oxide-filled fibers will release infrared heat after being absorbed by the sun to increase the temperature to achieve warmth. Another product, Querbinthermo, has a decolorizing property on the surface of the fabric. The reverse side is a ceramic layer. After light is irradiated, when the temperature is higher than normal, the surface will appear white. When the temperature is low, the color will change to black. In a further development, the thermal fabric developed for alpine rock climbing and frigid climates uses high-density hollow fibers to coat a layer of metal in the gas phase, conduct heat through radiation, and distribute it throughout the fabric through circulation control.
